The Pond Springs vision

The Pond Springs family will be a beacon of Christ’s love for everyone seeking refuge, vibrant faith and resurrected futures.

A mission without a vision is destined for boredom and burnout.

The Pond Springs family isn’t just engaged in being busy with our mission. We’re focused and guided by a vision of the future.

We share a collective dream about what reality looks like when all of our present mission moments are woven together to form our desired destiny.

Want to be engaged in a family of faith with a sense of where we are going? We don’t have all the answers, but we do have an ongoing sense of God’s abiding grace. Come help us shine the light of Christ’s love in NW Austin!

Core beliefs

  1. We believe in God the Father, Almighty; Creator of Sustainer of all things;
  2. And, in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Savior and Lord;
  3. Who was conceived by a virgin, crucified for our sins, died, was buried and, on the third day, was resurrected by the power of God according to prophecy.
  4. We believe that Jesus Christ ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, hearing our prayers and interceding for the saints;
  5. That he will come again to judge mankind according to their acceptance of him as Savior, resurrecting and appointing the righteous to eternal life.
  6. We believe that salvation is by God’s grace alone, through our faith in Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and in his all-sufficient sacrifice.
  7. We believe that all believers are appointed, in Christ, to do good works to God’s glory.
  8. We believe in the Holy Spirit who works in each man to convict him of his sins and then, in his salvation, to sanctify him to the glory of God.
  9. We believe in the absolute truth of the Holy Bible; the authoritative and trustworthy word of God.
  10. We believe in the holy, apostolic church which is the agency to do God’s work, including administering the ordinances of baptism and communion.

Authentic worship

Followers of Christ want to express love, gratitude, appreciation, honor and praise to Jesus.

Worship can take many forms. Individual worship. Family worship. Small group worship. Worship as a gathering of the local church. Worship as a larger gathering of the church across the city and so forth.

In a very real sense, all of life is worship, and Pond Springs wants to be a place of authentic worship of God where you feel inspired and welcomed.

Often people wonder what style of worship service they might expect at a certain church. If you’d like to know more about that, see what a Sunday morning looks like.

Joyful fellowship

Relationships fuel a healthy, dynamic church family.

Pond Springs enjoys an active fellowship, both within the church family and within the larger Christian community around NW Austin and beyond.

Through shared experience, shared service and shared purpose, Pond Springs pursues Jesus’ vision for a thriving unity made alive in the Spirit.

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one, as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.” Jesus (Jn. 17:20-23)

Loving outreach

Love can’t survive in isolation.

Pond Springs loves the NW Austin community and loves the people of Austin. Because of that love, we want to live out the robust Jesus tradition within our community and our city. This doesn’t mean trying to use a fancy sales pitch or sneaky tactics to peddle religion on people.

We’re not promoting a regimen of rules. We’re not made alive by organized religion.

We’re imperfect. We’re flawed. We’re human. We’re seeking to follow the way of Jesus and trying to share that journey with those who are looking for new adventures, new hopes, and new dreams. See our local and international missions.

Gracious equipping

Life is challenging. Having someone to walk with you in the moment and mentor you for what’s next equips you for real life.

From small group Bible discussions, to time with prayer partners, to service projects, to softball in the park equip believers for works of service.

Importantly, this equipping is done with hearts full of grace. Pond Springs isn’t a spiritual bootcamp; it’s a place of triage, help, hope and healing.

We all have questions. We are all learning to put one foot in front of the other. None of us “have it all figured out.” Let’s grow together on this epic journey with Jesus.

“Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.” Eph. 4:11-14
